Maria Apreleva, Ph.D.
Maria Apreleva is a Clinical Research Associate and is responsible for establishing, training, and monitoring clinical sites in Europe. She joined Axya after working as a Research Director of the Harvard Shoulder Biomechanics Group at Massachusetts General Hospital. While at Axya, Ms. Apreleva has been responsible for management of pre-clinical and clinical evaluations of new products, biomechanical analysis and regulatory submissions to FDA. Her primary area of research expertise is orthopaedic biomechanics. Ms. Apreleva's education includes an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD degree in Bioengineering, both from the University of Pittsburgh, and a post-doctoral fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. Ms. Apreleva has won an Excellence in Research Award from American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine in 2003 and an O'Connor Award from Arthroscopic Association of North America in 2001.
