Douglas Smith

Chief Financial Officer 
Doug Smith works with Axya and other companies as an interim or part-time financial executive.  He has worked with other medical device companies including OmniSonics Medical Technologies, Insulet and Boston Medical Technologies and with the biotech Avicena Group, Inc.  Mr. Smith spent ten years as Controller of Thinking Machines Corporation, a supercomputer company, and seven years as an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Company.  He holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Florida and an MBA and MS in Accounting from Northeastern University.  Between his undergraduate and graduate studies, he served as an officer in the United States Coast Guard.
